AA School of Architecture

[20.8.2007] The AA is, in its most basic architectural description, a space – of an entirely unique and valuable kind. We are entirely independent and autonomous as an institution, and democratically governed according to principles that were established at the time of our founding in the mid-nineteenth century. At that time, the profession of architecture – let alone the professional training and education of architects – had yet to appear in the forms we recognise today. The AA remains unlike any other architectural school, by virtue of its organisation, ambition and operation, its immense latitude and flexibility. As a venue for learning, it consistently sets, maintains and evolves standards that other schools worldwide seek to emulate. http://www.aaschool.ac.uk

The AA is the world's most international school of architecture and a world-wide leader in architectural education, culture and experimentation. I write and lecture on contemporary architecture, design and urbanism. My special interests include contemporary design cultures and the impact of distributed design tools and collaborative learning environments. www.brettsteele.net

Städelschule: Architecture Class

[1.1.2001] The Architecture Class offers a unique alternative to the other, prominent post-graduate Master programs specializing in advanced architectural design. SAC's unique features stem from its relatively small size and the ensuing attention given to each student for his or her personal development as an architect. www.staedelschule.de

Studio Prix [University of Applied Arts Vienna]

[24.2.1998] The role of the architect will be changing dramatically in the decade. lt is to be feared that the extent to which an architect will be able to determine the construction process gradually becomes void. This means that less and less construction projects will employ an architect. http://www.dieangewandte.at/archprix
