[12.3.2009] As the worlds most internationally diverse graduate design program, the DRL continues to explore the possibilities of todays highly distibuted, digital design networks and tools. The DRL is a 16-month post professional course in architectural design, leading to a masters of architecture and urbanism (march) degree.


AA School of Architecture

We are entirely independent and autonomous as an institution, and democratically governed according to principles that were established at the time of our founding in the mid-nineteenth century. At that time, the profession of architecture – let alone the professional training and education of architects – had yet to appear in the forms we recognise today. [12.8.2007] This site collects Brett's lectures, writings, interviews, course syllabuses and other activities, in one easy-to-find place. I Direct the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and the school's sister company, AA Publications. The AA is the world's most international school of architecture and a world-wide leader in architectural education, culture and experimentation. I write and lecture on contemporary architecture, design and urbanism. My special interests include contemporary design cultures and the impact of distributed design tools and collaborative learning environments.


EmTech (AA School of Architecture)

[10.8.2007] The Emergent Technologies and Design Programme was inaugurated in the academic year 2001-02, and validated as a Master Programme in September 2003. The first five year research cycle has been completed at the end of the academic year 2005-06. EmTech includes an option for a 12 month MA or MSc degree and a 16 month Master of Architecture degree. The programme consists of two phases. Phase 01 comprises seminar courses and studio modules, as well as the Dissertation preparation phase. Phase 02 consists of supervised research and the Dissertation.

Hyperbody (TU Delft)

Hyperbody is a research group at the Faculty of Architecture at the Delft University of Technology directed by prof. ir. Kas Oosterhuis. The goals set for the group’s research are to explore techniques and methods for designing and building of non-standard, virtual and interactive architectures. Cutting edge techniques and methods are taught and applied by researchers and students.

TU Graz startet postgradualen Universitätslehrgang

[1.2.1995] Augmented Architecture: Mass Customization and Hybrid Environments Computeranwendung in der Architektur ist längst nicht mehr auf CAD beschränkt. Die digitalen Medien erfassen immer weitere Bereiche der Architekturproduktion. Mass Customization – wirtschaftliche Maßanfertigung in großen Stückzahlen – ermöglicht eine neue Form der Individualisierung; Hybrid Environments – avancierte Medientechnologien verwandeln ganze Räume in Umgebungen, die in Interaktion mit dem Menschen treten. Dieses Zukunftspotenzial ist Gegenstand der Ausbildung zum Master of Advanced Studies in „Architectural Computing and Media Technology“ and der TU Graz und startet im Februar 2009 (MAS TU Graz in Architektur).

[1.1.1994] The University of Applied Arts Vienna is home to more than 1,800 students, many of whom come from other countries both in and outside Europe. The range of courses, which are on offer is unusually diverse and includes architecture, fine arts (painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, ceramics), stage design, design (fashion, graphic design, graphics and advertising, landscape design), industrial design, media design (transmedia arts, digital art), conservation and restoration, pedagogic studies for artistic teaching disciplines, textile design and handicrafts.
